I believe that technology is a powerful and essential tool in the art classroom. It helps students learn new skills, express themselves in diverse ways, and stay connected to the creative possibilities of today’s world. Digital tools can make art more accessible and exciting—especially for students drawn to graphic design, animation, video, or photography. It also allows them to share their work, receive feedback, and learn from a global community of artists.
My vision is to support students in becoming creative, confident thinkers who feel comfortable using both traditional and digital tools to bring their ideas to life. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in video, music, web production, and graphic design, promotions and social media skills. I have mostly taught formal art, yet I have taught digital art to older middle school students and see that I will be able to use technology in the future with interactive, and personalized lessons that use many forms of expression through technology.
I love the idea of showing students how they can use video tutorials, creative apps, and digital galleries to support their learning. From exploring art techniques and styles to discovering biographies of inspiring artists, students can carve unique creative paths that match their interests and strengths.
Technology also plays a vital role in supporting diverse learning needs. Whether through adaptive tools, alternative ways to create, or flexible formats for instruction, I aim to create
an inclusive classroom where all students—regardless of learning style or ability—can access meaningful, empowering artistic experiences. My goal is to use technology not just for skill-building, but as a way to support self-expression, confidence, and a lifelong love of creativity.

As we look closely at the many textures that trees offer us, we are inspired to add textures to our art. Walking in the greenbelt, I am filled with all the inspiration that nature gives us. And the many textures that are all around us in nature and especially trees. Experimental Art Video by Aliah Selah.
• The finished painting above “Dreamtime Vision Seeker” is s breakthrough painting that came through when I studied the "Trust The Painting" method with the brilliant painter - Vajra (www.altaroftheheart.com).
A gift from the universe in Hawaii, that quantum leaped my painting.
I am so grateful for this magical place that opened up my cocreativity.
• And thanks to my Art Mentor - Tobin Keller for inspiring me with his wisdom and big heart that embraced my cocreative spirit. He has inspired me to become an art teacher - like him - healing hearts with art.
• And special thanks to the Academy of Art University Art Education Department where I am earning my masters. They support and empower me to continue with: "CoCreative Connections with Aliah Selah" - where I will offer my insights and passions about how cocreativity heals us.
This is a music video short... that showcases my dear friend Koin and her vision to be a writer. To have a way to make her mark on the world and see how her light shines to many to see more into their low lives because of your ideas. I am holding that space for her. I wrote this music as a song that would be a good background for dancing, running, driving, making love... and now I offer it to this brave soul to find her light and offer a way for it to shine. "Where Light Shines" honors how love leads us to allow our light to shine.
Standards for Referring Students to Appropriate Digital Resources
To help students evaluate digital resources effectively, I came up with The A.W.A.R.E. framework, which emphasizes key criteria for assessing information:
* Authority: Identify the author or organization responsible for the content. Determine if they are reputable and have the necessary expertise.
* When: Check the publication date to ensure the information is current and relevant to your topic and focus on the purpose that you are gathering the information about.
* Accuracy: Verify that the information is supported by evidence, free from errors, and can be cross-referenced with other reliable sources.
* Relevance: Ensure the content aligns with your research needs and is appropriate for your audience.
* Expertise: Assess the credentials and qualifications of the author or organization to determine their level of expertise on the subject matter.
By teaching students to be A.W.A.R.E., you equip them with a straightforward tool to critically assess the quality and reliability of digital resources. This framework is adapted from various evaluation methods, such as the CRAAP Test, which stands for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose. (guides.lib.uchicago.edu)
